AI tools are all the rage right and while I was initially a little hesitant and slightly resistant to jump on the bandwagon, I can’t believe it took me so long now. AI tools are truly life-changing in your business.
It used to take so much time and energy and so many hours to plan out a blog post from scratch:
- Topics and ideas
- Titles and headlines
- Outline your content
- Researching what to include
- Writing everything!
It’s a LOT, but AI tools can do absolutely every step of this for you! It’s crazy!
And you might be thinking, “Is this really necessary?” or “Do I really need to use these tools?”
My answer is a resounding YES. I can guarantee you that your biggest competition is already using it if Google SEO is even remotely important to you.
But the process here is also very important and so are the AI tools that you choose to work with.
Some call them content generation tools, but I prefer to call them “AI Writing Assistants” because I think that’s really the best way that you should be using them in your business.
AI tools aren’t a complete substitute for human content and they shouldn’t be. You should be using them to write the bulk of your content, aka do the “heavy lifting,” but you still need to add your own personal flare to your content.
This is important for connecting with your audience and for Google SEO rankings.
I’ll discuss more about how to personalize your content as well as my favorite AI writing prompts at the end of this article.
For now, let’s dive into the best AI writing tools that you can use in your business. Here is a quick overview:
- Best overall: Jasper
- Best for serious SEO writers: GrowthBar
- Best for beginner-intermediate SEO writers: AI Writer
- Best low-cost plan: Copy.ai
- Best free trial: Writesonic
- Best simple plan with no special features: Paragraph AI
- Best for story writers: Sudowrite
Now, let’s dive into each one of these in more detail!
7 Best AI Tools for Your Business
1. Jasper
Jasper AI is my absolute favorite AI writing tool that I use in my own business.
Jasper’s advanced algorithms evaluate your text and give you immediate feedback to help you write better.
There are TONS of templates that you can use for just about every type of writing assignment you could think of, including blog posts, emails, social media posts, ads, products, and more.
Key Features:
- Full set of customizable templates
- Integrations with Surfer SEO and Grammarly
- Integration with Plagiarism Checker
- Beginner-friendly YouTube tutorials to get started
- Collaborate with teams on the pro plan
Pricing Info:
Jasper AI has two plans that you can start with and both increase in price with the number of words that you need.
- Starter: $24/month for 20,000 words
- Boss: $49/month for 20,000 words
I personally use the Boss Mode plan because it comes with a Google docs style editor that I personally find quite nice while writing.
2. GrowthBar
GrowthBar is the AI tool for the SEO lovers!
GrowthBar comes with a full suite of AI writing tools as well as SEO tools, including keyword research and tracking, backlink analysis, on-page SEO audits, competitor research, and more.
This is definitely the best tool for anyone looking to equip their AI tool with a suite of SEO tools.
I personally use Jasper along with Surfer SEO and Ahrefs, but I can tell you that these tools are all quite expensive, so it adds up.
GrowthBar is a great solution for anyone that wants to save on some of these costs with one tool!
Key Features:
- Keyword research
- Keyword tracking
- Competitor backlinks tracking
- Chrome extension
- Supports teams and collaboration
Pricing Info:
The pricing plans are priced based on the number of paragraph generations, content outlines, keyword tracking, and more. Each plan features a higher limit of these and other SEO metrics.
You can also start a free trial of any of the plans.
- Standard: $29/month for 500 paragraph generations
- Pro: $79/month for 2,000 paragraph generations
- Agency: $129/month for 5,000 paragraph generations
3. AI Writer
AI Writer is another great AI tool for SEO-focused writers, although perhaps not as serious as those who need the full SEO feature set that Growthbar provides.
AI Writer has an SEO-focused editor that claims to give you a 73.47% ranking advantage by helping you find the right words that Google is looking for.
The SEO editor will provide you with a bunch of suggested and related keywords based on what it finds on the first page of Google search results for your chosen keyword.
I already use Surfer SEO for this, but I think this is a great tool for anyone who needs some help with SEO and keywords and who isn’t already using another tool for this.
One other cool feature of AI Writer is that it provides you with a list of citations and sources that it uses so that you can include them in your text or verify them for accuracy.
Key Features:
- SEO editor and text rewording
- Keyword suggestions
- Text summarizer
- Automatic publish to WordPress
- Citations and sources
- Full set of tutorials on their website
Pricing Info:
AI Writer’s plans are based on the number of articles generated, rather than words. They also offer a free trial on all plans.
- Basic: $29/month for 40 articles
- Standard: $59/month for 150 articles
- Power: $375/month for 1,000 articles
Teams are only available on the Power plan.
4. Copy.ai
Copy.ai is another great and affordable option for all of your AI writing needs.
Copy.ai focuses on chat, blog post writing, social media, and email and they have 90+ tools and templates to help you write your best content.
I love that they have a free plan, but the 2,000-word limit is certainly not enough to write blog posts, so you’ll have to upgrade if you want more than that.
Their Blog Post Wizard tool, which will help you get an entire blog post written in just a few minutes, is also part of the Pro plan.
I personally prefer the style and setup of the Jasper platform over Copy.ai, but it’s a great option if you’re looking for a free or cheaper plan.
Key Features:
- Chat feature for basic, quick needs
- Pre-built prompts for writing better copy
- Templates for marketing, real estate, sales, HR, and more
- Use cases include blog posts, social media, and email
- Teams and collaboration possible on paid plan
Pricing Info:
Copy.ai has a free plan with limited words and a pro plan with unlimited words.
- Free: $0 for 2,000 words
- Pro: $36/month for unlimited words
My suggestion is to sign up for the free acount to try it out and then upgrade to the pro plan if you need more words.
5. Writesonic
I like Writesonic because they are one of the most affordable AI tools on this list, but there is a caveat with that. There’s always a caveat when it comes to cost, right?
Writesonic has different pricing tiers of the quality of the words used: Premium, Superior, and Ultimate and there is different pricing for these different tiers.
That makes the pricing plans a little more complicated and I don’t love that you have to consider the quality of the output with the pricing.
That being said, Writesonic is absolutely one of the cheaper options on this list and it has some pretty cool features, such as a paraphrasing tool, text expander, article summarizer, and more.
Key Features:
- 100+ templates
- Chatbot and Docs editor
- 25+ languages supported
- Integration with Surfer SEO
Pricing Info:
You can start a free trial for your first 10,000 words. Beyond that, the Long-Form pricing plans are set up based on the quality of the words.
- Premium: Starting at $12.67/month for 60,000 words
- Superior: Starting at $12.67/month for 30,000 words
- Ultimate: Starting at $12.67/month for 15,000 words
6. Paragraph AI
With Paragraph AI, you can write blog posts, emails, ad copy, reports, technical manuals, newsletters, press releases, and more.
If you need a basic plan that writes a lot for a low cost but without all of the bells and whistles that come with the other AI tools on this list, Paragraph AI is your tool.
While this tool doesn’t have any pre-designed templates, there are a lot of blog posts on their websites that will help you create the type of document you’re looking for.
The other notable difference about this AI writing software is that there is no dashboard area that you login to use the program. You can only use it through a Chrome extension or as a downloadable app.
This is definitely the tool for people that want the lowest-cost, DIY tool.
Key Features:
- Wide range of help articles for various types of writing
- Chrome plugin extension
- Write translations for 30+ languages
- App for iOS and Android
Pricing Info:
Paragraph AI has a great free forever plan that lets you write up to 5,000 words per day. If you need more than that, you can upgrade:
- Professional: $12.49/month for 1,000,000 words/month
They also offer a student plan (with student ID) for the same amount of words but for $9.99/month.
7. Sudowrite
Sudowrite is my favorite budget-friendly AI tool on this list for anyone that writes short or long-form stories.
With their AI Canvas feature, you can explore plot points, character arcs, and themes, which makes Sudowrite a great option for story writers.
There is even a visualization feature that can create AI-generated art based on your character descriptions!
You can use Sudowrite for blogging too, especially if you ever write stories, but I think you’re better off with a tool like Jasper or Copy.ai if you’re writing other blog content.
Key Features:
- AI Canvas to plan and create stories
- Visualization to create AI-generated art
- Chrome extension for Google Docs
- Supports 30+ languages
Pricing Info:
Sudowrite has 3 different pricing plans and also offers a free trial. All prices are quoted for annual pricing.
- Hobby & Student: $10/month for 30,000 words
- Professional: $20/month for 90,000 words
- Max: $100/month for 300,000 words
What About Chat GPT?
ChatGPT is all the rage right now, so why isn’t this tool on your list? Great question!
While ChatGPT is super popular and people are using it for every situation you can think of from birthday invitations to breakup texts, I don’t think it’s the ideal AI tool for serious blog writers.
It’s a relatively simple tool and you will have to pay for the upgraded version to use it because the free version is generally unavailable to overuse.
Because you’re paying for it anyway, you might as well use one of the other best AI tools on this list like Jasper, AI Writer, or GrowthBar that provide a lot of additional SEO features and integrations, templates, and more.
How to Personalize Your AI Content
The more you use AI, the more you will probably realize the repetition of certain words and phrases. Sometimes, AI writing comes out just a little stiff.
Make sure to do the following to your writing to “humanize” it a bit more:
- Remove any repetitive words like “ overall” and “additionally” or words like “furthermore” that you wouldn’t use much in regular speech.
- Add your own thoughts, opinions, and experiences with the topics that you’re writing about.
- Replace commonly used words like “user” with “you” to sound more personal and like you’re speaking to your audience.
- Do your own quick research on the topic to make sure you’ve got all your bases covered.
These tasks will help to personalize your content and make it resonate better with your audience. It will also make it appear more favorable in Google’s eyes for SEO purposes.
My Favorite AI Prompts for Writing Blog Posts
Finally, I want to give you a few of my favorite prompts that I use to write blog posts with Jasper AI, but they can be applied to any AI writing tool that you use.
- “Write a list of ideas about…”
- “Write a list of 5 strategies for…”
- “Write an introduction for a blog post about…”
- “Write an outline for an article about…”
- “Write a paragraph about…”
- “Compare the pros and cons of…”
- “Write a list of FAQs about…”
- “Write a conclusion for this blog post.”
I tend to use the same prompts over and over again, so just practice with your AI tool until you get the hang of it and discover your tried-and-tested writing prompts!
